This Tuesday, July 23 at 21 p.m., an update was deployed on Borderlands 3 on all platforms except Mac including the update will be deployed on July 30. Find everything you need to know about everything that has been corrected and modified in the game.

Qualitative improvements

  • Legendary fire mode for the Fabricator
    • The Fabricator now features a “Legendary” alternate fire mode that spawns between one and three legendary weapons for 250 Eridium. Activate this fire mode as with all weapons, and you will notice purple particles when using the Fabricator.
  • Mission rewards available in the Veteran Vending Machine
    • Players can now purchase old reward missions from the Veteran Vending Machine outside Mad Earl's door on Sanctuary. Once the missions are completed, their rewards will be added there and can be purchased with Eridium.
  • Legendary Gear Available From Vending Machines
    • We have rebalanced the Dispensers based on community feedback. Distributors of all types now have a little thing to offer legendary gear for purchase. We've also removed uncommon (green) items from Daily Items.

Adjustments to rewards from chests and brutal enemies

The quality of rewards found in chests and by killing brutal enemies has been slightly improved. Our goal is to keep chests interesting and players feel fairly rewarded for taking down difficult enemies.



Dedicated Loot Adjustments

Dedicated loot from each boss has been extensively redesigned with the goal of making it more reliable and making the farming experience more interesting. Most bosses have two pieces of gear associated with them, with a few exceptions. To achieve this goal, we've enabled respawning for the following bosses and redistributed gear more evenly.

Chosen Bonus Adjustments

To further improve the farming experience, we reviewed Ascended bonuses and determined that some were not as interesting to the community as expected. Considering their wealth, we have removed the following 21 bonuses. Any gear that currently has these bonuses will continue to function as before, but gear received after this update will no longer be able to provide them.

  • While airborne, critical damage is increased by 25%.
  • While airborne, damage is increased by 30%.
  • While airborne, rate of fire increases by 20%.
  • While airborne, accuracy and handling increase by 75%.
  • While sliding, damage increases by 40%.
  • While sliding, accuracy and handling increase by 50%.
  • While sliding, the rate of fire increases by 25%.
  • When you slide, you charge energy that fills part of your shield.
  • When the action skill is active, you take slightly less damage.
  • While the action skill is active, 250% of health damage taken is reflected back to the attacker as electrical damage.  
  • When action skill ends, critical damage is increased by 25% for a short time.
  • At the end of the action skill, create a cyber spike that damages nearby enemies.
  • At the end of the action skill, spawn a healing puddle for a few seconds.
  • When action skill ends, fire rate increases by 11% and reload speed by 26% for a short time.
  • At the end of the action skill, weapon accuracy and handling increase sharply for a short time.
  • At the end of the action skill, movement speed is increased by 5% for a short time.
  • When the action skill ends, the attacker recovers 30% of all damage taken for a brief time.
  • Upon exiting the Iron Bear, no ammo is consumed for 5 seconds.
  • After using Phase Slam, damage taken is reduced by 20% and movement speed is increased by 12%.
  • After using Phase Grab, accuracy and weapon handling increase greatly.

Note on Loot Drop Rates

A few bosses have been tweaked slightly to improve loot drops, but most of these spawn rates remain unchanged. After modifying the dedicated loot and removing 21 Ascended bonuses, we decided to start by observing the effects of these changes before doing a bigger overhaul.



Stability

  • Addressed a reported crash that could occur in split screen.
  • Reduced the number of projectiles appearing from damage taken when using multiple items on enemies and capped the number of projectile bounces to 4.

General

  • New languages ​​offered for the "A Bloody Bounty" additional campaign.
  • Addressed a reported issue where trophies/achievements could sometimes get stuck when all location names were discovered.
  • Trophies/achievements have been awarded retroactively for affected players.
  • Addressed a reported issue where the Villain's projectile would only spawn in the host player.
  • Addressed a reported concern where Vladof's Core Buster Grenade Mod could damage allies with projectiles spawning after the first explosion.
  • Addressed a reported concern that standing on the inactive jump pad when Scourge teleports the player knocks them off the map and kills them on the second teleporter in Elimination at Guardian's Breach.
  • Addressed a reported concern that Anathema the Relentless was not using the correct death damage data in Takedown at Guardian's Breach.
  • Addressed a reported concern where weapon charms could disappear from the collection after relaunching the game in the "A Bloody Bounty" campaign add-on.
  • Addressed a reported concern where the Jetbeast mortar was dealing damage twice.

Chaos mode

  • Addressed a reported issue where the Beast King's Blazing Hymenoptera crush attack was incorrectly scaling multiple times for Chaos damage.
  • Pet scaling increased in Chaos mode.
  • Fixed a bug: When Zane's Digiclone interacted with certain weapons such as the OPQ, it received several Chaos mode damage scale upgrades.
  • Fixed a bug where Moze's Iron Bear and certain class mods like the Mind Sweeper would receive multiple damage scalings in Mayhem mode.
  • Addressed various reported issues where Moze and Zane were getting disproportionately increased damage with different class mods in Mayhem Mode.
  • Addressed a reported concern that the Chosen buff “While action skill is active, constant nova procs dealing X damage” was incorrectly scaling when players received Chaos modifiers putting damage scale skills.
  • Amara's "Action Link" skill now correctly scales with Action Skill damage.
  • Addressed a reported issue where the Cosmic Crater Legendary Artifact was not scaling elemental pool damage with ramming damage in Mayhem Mode.

Character

  • Players can no longer cancel emotes to exploit Anarchy stacks.
  • Addressed reported issues where FL4K's "Head Ball" passive skill was not working.
  • Addressed a reported concern that the vibration effect of FL4's "Support with Rift" augment would persist after the action skill ended.
  • FL4K pets now use the correct color with the “Like a Pro” skin on the client side.
  • Addressed a reported concern that FL4K's normal Pet Jacassos attack command was not working properly.
  • Changed Moze's Bountiful Vengeance skill to scale its duration with each point invested.
  • Moze can no longer avoid the boss teleport in Elimination at Guardian's Breach by entering or exiting the Iron Bear while teleporting.
  • Addressed a reported issue where the Grenade Launcher was not dealing more damage when equipped with the Stainless Steel Bear passive skill while using Moze's Auto-Bear.

Visual effects

  • Addressed a reported issue where visual effects remained on screen after using a second ramming when the Mind Melt Artifact effect was already active.
  • Addressed a reported issue where the Mind Melt Artifact first person visual effect was only displaying for the host player.

Audio

  • William the Drunk lines outside of missions now have audio during the “Bloody Stone” mission.
  • Scourge now has death lines in Takedown at Guardians' Breach.

Interface

  • Improvements to the new News Widget interface.
  • Addressed a reported concern where a temporary message would appear when driving their vehicle through the Droughtlands level transition in the A Bloody Bounty add-on campaign.
  • The state of the mail scroll buttons has been changed.
  • Addressed a reported concern that several options in the Graphics menu contained temporary descriptions.

  • Moze's Anarchy stacks no longer disappear when entering the Iron Bear.
  • Fixed a bug where Amara's Elemental Radiation Chosen bonus was less effective than advertised in its description.
  • The damage shown in the description of Amara's "Personal Space" skill has been changed to more accurately reflect the game.
  • Addressed a reported concern that FL4K's "Rage and Regeneration" skill was not increasing pet health regeneration.
  • Amara's "Magic Link" skill has been changed to reflect the damage dealt in-game.
  • Addressed a reported concern where players could access unwanted areas in the Elimination mission "Blind Gaze" at Guardian's Breach.
  • Fixed getting stuck near two Eridian Chests before encountering Anathema the Relentless in Elimination at Guardians' Breach.
  • Fixed a hang in the Elimination mission "Iron Falls" at Guardian's Breach.
  • Addressed a reported concern that enemies affected by Amara's Glamor skill were immune to damage and could not be killed by the player.
  • Corrected Hydragoian nameplate to read "Radiant Bellik".
  • Addressed a reported concern that mounted enemies would become permanent allies with Amara's 'Glamour' skill against a telezapper in the 'A Bloody Bounty' campaign add-on.
  • Fixed a potential mission blocker: Doc Stanley not becoming an enemy again after being affected by Amara's "Glamour" skill during the "Miracle Elixir Repairer" mission of the "A Bloody Bounty" add-on campaign ".
  • Fixed a potential mission blocker where Doc Stanley would not become an enemy again after being affected by Amara's "Glamour" skill during the "Soap Passage" mission of the "A Bloody Bounty" add-on campaign.
  • Addressed a reported concern that Rose would remain in the room before reaching the Quartermaster boss area in the "A Bloody Bounty" Campaign Add-on.
