Out of nowhere, and playable for free on PC, Xbox One and PS4, Apex Legends is a Battle Royale of a whole new kind. Combining nervousness and teamwork, the game offers an easy start but will require a little practice to have perfect control. Along with the basic battle royale rules, Apex Legends has a lot of small features that bring a new feel.

Game characters
For the moment, the game only offers parts in a team of 3 players but it is possible that it evolves later, moreover your team cannot have the same character several times, so it will be important to agree with your teammates. For now, 9 characters are currently available including 6 playable for free and 3 purchasable.

The currencies of the game
There are 3 types of currencies in the game in order to unlock purely cosmetic items (there are no pay-to-win aspects on Apex Legends). For more information about the free in-game currencies, you can consult our currency guide.
equipment
In Apex Legends, there are a few legendary weapons that you will be able to recognize by their golden color. However there is no real color code depending on the rarity of the weapon, the color simply symbolizes the type of weapon you have in hand (submachine gun, pistol, shotgun etc ...), as well than the color of the ammunition that matches it.
The game also offers an armor system that you can collect during the game, the quality of the armor collected will affect the total capacity of your shield. Thus, armor epic will allow you to have a larger shield capacity than a shield common. The armor is divided into two parts, the helmet and the torso.

Weapons also have upgrades. Indeed you will be able to find during your game, viewfinder, stock and other weapon improvements which will offer a certain bonus to your weapon. The higher the rarity level, the more effective the upgrade item.

Interesting mechanics
The game offers a few new features compared to classic royal battles, ranging from the resuscitation beacon, to the zip line, through a multitude of more interesting mechanics than the other.
The resuscitation beacon
Besides the healing mechanic for downed allies, Apex Legends has a new alternative for dead players, you just need to grab your teammate's banner and bring it to one of the many respawn beacons. Once done, your teammate will return aboard a small shuttle ready to fight alongside you again.
→ Beacons are represented by green icons on your map.
→ An ally who returns thanks to beacons, returns without equipment.
The zip line
The game also offers a mechanism around the zip lines which makes it easier for you to move around the island and quickly reach the area if necessary.
There are 2 types of zip lines: the classic zip line allows you to go from one building to another, the second zip line is the one which is attached to a kind of small flying beacon and allows, among other things, to be able to reuse the jet-pack at the start to reach the area of your choice.
The zip line is an excellent means of transport, so it is essential to know how to use it.
Little Tips
The game offers some very interesting but much more discreet features, for example:
→ The crate containing your opponent's corpse gear will be the highest quality item color, so if the dead player had armor Legendary, then the chest will be golden.
→ Near your map a small message will appear each time you arrive in an area announcing the amount of loot available.
→ When you shoot a player, the color of the numbers on impact tells you the rarity level of the opponent's shield. Thus, if the numbers turn red, it means that you are directly hitting your target's life points.
→ You do not take fall damage on the game, take the opportunity to quickly move around the map.
→ Unlike similar games, the games of Apex-legends are played on 60 players max instead of the usual 100.
→ At the moment, the game is only in teams of 3, which means that cooperation is extremely important. Try to communicate via your microphone (remember to adjust it first) if you are in pick-up.
