Best GTA V Mods

Don't get me wrong, Grand Theft Auto V is a fantastic game with plenty of replayability, however, it's now eight years old. The good news is that the modding community is still on the case, so we thought we'd include a list of some of the best mods to freshen up your GTA V gameplay!

Best GTA V Mods

For this list we've picked out some of the best mods to keep you going on your adventures around Los Santos, some are mere little details and some are absolute game changers! As is usually the case with these things, the list is PC oriented and will require mods to be enabled for you to install and use the add-ons.

8. Open All Interiors

If you're anything like us, for all the glory and size of GTA, the fact that certain areas are inaccessible is still a bug. A simple yet effective mod, Open All Interiors lets you explore the interiors of buildings that were previously unavailable. Even though it's a small gesture, it makes the game world that little bit bigger!

7. Pokerball

Pokemon? In GTA V we hear you say?! Yes, that is definitely the case with this mod. In this Pokèball mod, you do exactly what you think except for residents and citizens of Los Santos. You will be armed with six Pokèballs and the goal is to catch LS passers-by to fight alongside you. Just like in the current Pokemon game, you will sometimes have to fight before you can catch certain people. So, in good old GTA fashion, you pull out the baseball bat and then you can claim your prize!

6. Ultimate Superman

You know how Superman gets a little pissed off at the very end of Zack Synder's Justice League? Well, this mod is going to help you reenact Superman's wrath in a demolished metropolis… except in Los Santos, which is demolished in a more metaphorical way! With Ultimate Superman you can use all the powers you expect from the Man of Steel such as; flight, laser vision and freezing wind to name a few. Sure, you can just fly like an ordinary, highly honored Superman, but we bet you won't!

5. The Red House (Extra Missions)

The game has shiny missions, but after eight years you've probably passed them many times by this point. Introducing The Red House mod! With more missions to complete, including gang takedowns and various assassination missions, this add-on pack will bring your game to life with unofficial mission add-ons. Not to mention that this also includes another heist mission, so you'll have more content to do with your other mods!

4. Zombies (Braaaaaiinnnss)

Ultimately, GTA V still has what is considered an awesome map. The vast acres of land across the city of Los Santos make it a great place to run zombies. Feeling like Days Gone did it with Dying Light (minus the parkour), the Zombies mod turns GTA into an undead festival of chaos. Maybe that's what we need to do until we finally get Dead Island 2!

3. North Yankton

You'll recognize this location as the setting for the game's prologue, as well as the location where Trevor and Michael will have a shootout later on. Since it's part of the on-rails aspect of the game, it's generally not open to exploration. Well, with the North Yankton mod, you can explore anything you want! Go behind the scenes and chase the train again, the area is yours.

2. Vice Cry (Vice City remasterisé)

If you walked and talked in 2002, you probably played Grand Theft Auto: Vice City. For years we've been hoping for a full remake, but until then we have the Vice City Remastered mod. Running as an add-on to the main game, you can travel around Vice City in all its Full HD glory, and if you want to even throw Tommy Vercetti in there for true authenticity (which really is a must).

1. LSPD's first response

Turn the game around by becoming one of the "good guys" instead. With the LSPD First Response mod, you become a cop who takes down criminals, participates in car chases and thwarts robberies. Instead of being the one trying to get the jewelry, you'll be trying to keep it safe in their displays. The gameplay aspect of this brings an entirely new element to the title, making it look like living in the shoes of the LSPD. Simply go to LSPD HQ and get your rookie badge to begin this adventure.

We wanted to focus on mods that open up the world a bit more in some way, however, there are mods that increase the value of the game in more modest ways, so shout out:

  • Festive Surprise – Add Santa hats and Christmas trees to random locations for a festive vibe.
  • Mobile Radio – Allows you to continue listening to radio stations on foot through the use of your (in-game) phone.
  • Fuel Script – Keep an eye on your tank level and head to RON stations to refuel to ensure you don't get caught out in a high-speed chase!
  • Fun Vehicles – Drive the DeLorean from Back to the Future as well as the Batmobile and Flintmobile (from the Flintstones) and many more!
  • The Simpsons Springfield Police Pack – Transforms all LSPD vehicles into Springfield Police Cars. It feels a bit like the Simpsons Hit & Run!

These mods are sure to spice up your core gameplay and bring you some interesting situations! With new missions, environments, and character abilities, the possibilities are endless…or at least, more extensive than they were when the game first released in 2013!
